It’s not just the 5km stretch of beautiful beaches that causes visitors to flock to Umdloti Beach, but also the very likely possibility of seeing dolphins playing in the waves that attracts many to the beaches of Umdloti. Add the natural beauty of the area and professional lifeguards on duty every day, this all makes Umdloti Beach particularly suited for a great beach outing for young and old.

Umdloti Beach features a gorgeous natural tidal pool which is safe for younger kids to play and swim in and at low tide you will be able to little fish and ocean life in the rock pools. The beaches are shark netted so its safe for adults to swim, do some snorkeling, surfing or diving.

The major feature of this gorgeous beach is the large natural rock pool, which makes for excellent swimming for little ones. The beach is also bordered by exquisite fields of sugar cane and subtropical bush, which create an idyllic backdrop to your vacation photos and a day spent on the beach. Umdloti is fabulous for swimming, snorkelling, SUP-ping, surfing, and beach sports that make use of the untouched sandy shores.

Umdloti Beach is also well known amongst locals and regular visitors for the dolphins that swim in shallow waters every morning. They playfully peep out of the water as they glide parallel to the shore in impressive schools. Between July and November, whales are also frequently spotted by excited onlookers on the sandy coast.
